‘Enemy of the Stars’ as part of Impermanence Dance VENUS – Bristol

A new version of music I co-created with Hollie Harding back in 2019 for a collaboration with director Josh Ben-Tovim will feature as part of an Impermanence quadruple bill of dance works.

The new version of ‘Enemy of the Stars’ features a new recording for contemporary classical chamber ensemble in counterpoint with intricate drone soundscapes.

 

‘The Virus Within: Hearing HIV’ at Turner Sims

It was great to perform The Virus Within: Hearing HIV with Workers Union Ensemble and Chad Swanson at Turner Sims as part of the University of Southampton Science and Engineering Day 2019.

Hertfordshire Youth Choir – St. Albans, 10th November 2010

Hertfordshire Youth Choir will be singing ‘Interplay II’ for choir, piano and electronics in St. Saviours Church in St. Albans on Wednesday.  We had a rehearsal last night and it sounded great.  It promises to be a great concert with an interesting and varied programme and it kicks off at 7.30.

Hidden Lives and Unvisited Tombs – 3.00pm, 5th December

I’ve composed some recorded music and will be improvising live for ‘Hidden lives and Unvisited Tombs‘ at St Pancras Church crypt next Saturday 5th December.  Our performance, which is directed by Rachel Warr, is part of an exhibition and performances put on by Scary Little Girls and will kick off at 3.30.

BBC World Service and Slade School of Fine Art Soundscape Piece – 27th February 2009

On Friday 27th February I am performing a new soundscape piece for computer, Nintendo WII controller and six loudspeakers for the third stage of a collaborative project between the BBC World Service and the Slade School of Fine Art.  You can read more information about it on the website for this project, The View from Here.

Beckett and Music Conference at the University of Sussex – 26th February 2009

I’m performing a new piece for prepared piano and electronics at the University of Sussex as part of the Beckett and Music Symposium. The piece, which I’m currently composing, is based on Beckett’s Stirrings Still and I will perform it evening of 26th February in the recital room at the University of Sussex campus in Falmer.

Premiere in Brighton – The Latest Music Bar, 10th February

I will be performing a new piece for improvising keys, electric guitar and electronics with Arthur Carabott and an improvisation with Sam Hayden (laptop) in a gig featuring Sussex University music postgraduate work.  Should be fun and some interesting sounds..

The Voice and Nothing More – 15th January 2009

I am excited to be taking part in an interesting art project at the Slade Art School, The Voice and Nothing More.  The event is curated by Sam Belinfante and Neil Luck.  I’ll be collaborating with visual artist Diana Taylor on a new piece for female voice and electronics that will be performed by Lore Lixembourg and myself on Thursday 15th January.
