DESCRIPTION:Composer Benjamin Oliver and Riot Ensemble present contemporary works that explore creative applications of artificial intelligence (AI).\n\n‘British soul sensation’ Hannah Williams joins forces with a new music superstar Riot Ensemble quartet to premiere Benjamin Oliver’s song cycle LOVE LETTERS. The work includes melancholic\, absurd and dramatic expressions of love made with LovelaceGPT\, a new AI text generation model developed by University of Southampton researchers. \nAI music and text generation\, as well as sound processing\, feature in five distinctive works by leading young composers : Rob Laidlow\, Zakiya Leeming\, Anna Appleby\, Oliver Sellwood and Megan Steinberg. The ‘startingly gifted’ Colombian-American soprano Stephanie Lamprea guests for three vocal pieces. \nThe LOVE LETTERS [WITH AI] project is supported by the University of Southampton Web Science Institute & Department of Music.

DESCRIPTION:London Sinfonietta present the world premiere screening of ANIL SOOD by Alys Scott-Hawkins. \nThe film\, accompanied by my score A-Listers\, tells the story of Southampton local Anil Sood. Anil is well-known in Southampton for running a dance music record shop and drum’n’bass events in the 1990s and 2000s. Through an interview Anil tells the stories of highs and lows; most recently having to close his latest business during the pandemic. SUMMARY:On the Circulation of Blood
DESCRIPTION:Sam Belinfante’s ‘On the Circulation of Blood’ is an itinerant\, multimedia installation and performance work as part of ‘The Plot’\, the fifth edition of Creative Folkestone Triennial. Initially unfolding at The Old Drying Grounds\, adjacent to St Peter’s School\, the work will then move to the Lower Leas Amphitheatre for this final performance. \nThe installation and performances will include my newly commissioned piece that I made in contribution to the project: ‘Beacons’ alongside new pieces by Sarah Dacey\, Neil Luck\, Elaine Mitchener\, Bernhard Schimpelsberger and Josephine Stephenson.
